Transport

Creation of a more integrated urban fabric

Creation of a more integrated urban fabric, development of latitudinal directions as a key characteristic of Ligovsky City will be made possible with the help of a new transport network, which will serve the interests of local residents and connect the district with other parts of St. Petersburg.
As part of the project for developing the transport infrastructure, new pedestrian paths will be created away from streets and inside roads, a tram network will be added, Begovaya Metro Station will be built. The Metro Station will become the center of a new transport hub.

New Metro Station

The Metro station currently under construction will become the center of the new district’s transport hub and the main infrastructural element of Ligovsky City.

The Metro station which is being designed at the moment will become the center of the new district’s transport hub and the main infrastructural element of Ligovsky City. Borovaya will have two exits: one to the railway station of the same name and to Ligovsky avenue on the intersection with Tosina street. The new Metro station will become a part of the third stage of construction of Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya Line. The new Metro line, which has been already included in the city’s development program, will connect together the southwestern and the northeastern parts of St. Petersburg, helping unload other lines and connect several city districts.

Trams

A tram is one of the most favorite types of public transport in the city.

A tram is one of the most favorite types of public transport in the city that has not only a communicative but also an aesthetical function as well. As passengers travel from one point to another in St. Petersburg, they can enjoy the landscapes and views of the city. High-speed trams, stations in the public zone format, and green routes – this is just a part of the planned program for creation of a comfortable transport climate in Ligovsky City.

Ligovsky City will create an impetus for development of the city tram network, which will become a part of transport infrastructure of the region, and an important element of landscaping within the project area.

New Roads

A special place will be given in the concept of the transport networks development.

A special place will be given in the concept of the transport networks development. Ligovsky City will be a city convenient for pedestrians, a city of nature, filled with the spirit of the place, very diverse and vibrant, a great place for life, work and recreation. This is why the roads between the city districts must be well-planned, and as convenient and safe as possible.

From the point of view of development of the territory and implementation of its concept, it is proposed to set up new connections between the downtown area of St. Petersburg and the city’s southwestern districts and suburbs. A new transport hub will be created at the intersection of Ligovsky Prospekt and the Baltic Railroad.

The pedestrian paths will not run along transport routes, and the city traffic intensity will remain even at any time during the day and in any season.

EHSD

Eastern High-Speed Diameter is an important infrastructural project in the city.

Development of the transport network is one of the main principles behind implementation of Ligovsky City project. The new routes will connect together the quarters inside the district, but communication with other parts of the city will be no less important for city residents. The Eastern High-Speed Diameter Highway will be an important infrastructural project for the city. The new road will connect the Western Chord and the Ring Road. Currently planning solutions are being selected for various sections of the road, and its route is being more precisely defined.

Construction of the EHSD is scheduled
to begin in 2018.
